Creative Door and Wayne Dalton Turn Heads at the 30th Annual CHBA Fairmont Golf Classic

In early June 2016, Creative Door's Calgary branch joined 280 of its industry peers at the 30th Annual CHBA Fairmont Golf Classic. As returning sponsors, Calgary Branch Manager Chris Strong and members of his team spent two and a half days golfing in breathtaking Fairmont Hot Springs, British Columbia.

"We've sponsored a hole at the Fairmont Golf Classic every year since the event was founded in 1986," says Strong. This year, however, Creative Door and Wayne Dalton teamed up to create a unique presence at the event. "We used this opportunity to give potential customers a chance to get up close and personal with one of our most popular doors."

Creative Door installed one of Wayne Dalton's top-of-the-line garage doors at a house overlooking the golf course in the community of Riverside. They then encouraged attendees to stop and take a look.

"We featured Wayne Dalton's Model 8680, a wood-grain fiberglass garage door designed to look like cedar," says Strong. "The door fit right in with the surrounding beauty of the mountains and really complemented the style of the home."

Creative Door's presence extended to the Mountainside and Riverside golf courses and included a branded booth, 21 foot roto-top banners, lawn signs and prize giveaways.

"This year's sponsorship not only gave us a direct link to our customers, it also helped our branch transition from a long-time event sponsor to being viewed as a big player in the market," says Strong. "Our presence resulted in new customers and many new friends."

The Calgary branch also participates in several other sponsorships throughout the year including the Willow Park Charity Golf Classic, CHBA Presidents Charity Classic, and the Calgary Stampede Home Lottery event.
