The Spirit of Giving is Alive at Creative Door!
When Creative Door employees thought about this holiday season, they knew that they wanted to make a difference and spread the Christmas cheer to their local communities. One of the charities the Creative Door Team knew was in desperate need of assistance was the local food banks. In fact, according to the national HungerCount, Canada has seen a dramatic increase in food bank usage this year. To help combat this need, employees joined forces, spurred on by some friendly branch-to-branch competition, to collect as many food bank donations as possible.
With creative minds in overdrive, Creative Door kicked off its 12 Days of Christmas Food Bank Drive competition at the beginning of December. To help increase the quantity of donations collected and inspire some friendly competition between the branches, employees created a twist on the traditional 12 Days of Christmas song for this campaign. The idea was to award each branch a point for every food bank item they collected for donation and award a bonus point for each donated item that either aligned with the day’s 12 Days of Christmas theme or with one of the food bank's most needed items. Some of the most creative donations have been things like canned shredded chicken for Day 4: Four Calling Birds and golden pineapple rings for Day 5: Five Golden Rings!
The Creative Door team collected nearly 3,500 items across the company! What an outstanding achievement that truly speaks to the engagement and commitment of the Creative Door employees and their passion for giving back to their local communities.
