The Location
Last fall The Home Depot Canada announced that it will be building its first Rapid Deployment Centre (RDC) in Western Canada. The massive centre will be located in Calgary, Alberta in the Dufferin North Industrial Park. Combined with a 640,000 square foot Stocking Distribution Centre (SDC), the 425,000 square foot RDC will be a fast-flowing Canadian Pacific Rail served distribution centre sending products directly to over 60 stores across Western Canada.
The Installation
The project that includes the installation of 300 overhead doors required the expertise of a company with a large team of technicians that could complete the project within a tight timeline, and Creative Door Services was honoured to be selected as the vendor of choice. To accommodate the extremely fast paced timeline, the Creative Door Services Calgary team created an install plan specifically streamlined for an installation of this magnitude.
The installation of the 300 Wayne-Dalton thermospan 150 is currently 50 per cent complete and so far our portion of the project is ahead of schedule. Construction has now begun on the second building, and the completion date is set for early 2016. We look forward to making the announcement that it’s doors open for the new facility next year!
