Located in the Yaletown area of Vancouver, King's Landing is a prestigious condominium complex overlooking the water of False Creek. As an added perk for residents, King's Landing converted 89 underground parking stalls into individualized, secure garages and the Creative Door team was brought in to design and install doors for each of them.
Getting Creative
While Creative Door isn't a stranger to high-volume installations, the project came with it's own unique challenges. The 89 parking stalls were spread out across three different underground levels of the garage, which meant that all the materials had to be transported down from the entrance to each location with low clearances.
Since none of the parking stalls were a standard size, the team needed to create a custom solution for each individual space. Each door also needed to offer proper ventilation and meet the specific design requirements of the complex.

The Door
To solve for the inconsistent sizes of the parking stalls, Creative Door custom-built structural support framing for each stall out of steel and wire mesh. The steel provided strength and security, while the wire mesh ensured each space was well-ventilated.
Once the frames were built, the team installed custom-fit steel sectional doors, all with automatic openers for added convenience.

Delivering Results
Tight timelines, complex designs and confined workspaces put Creative Door to the test but the team exceeded client expectations with this one-of-a-kind installation.
The individualized parking garages continue to serve as a selling feature for the complex and have inspired other residents of King's Landing to work with Creative Door for their own custom installations.
