Modernize Your Warehouse with DaltonDock Loading Dock Accessories

Managing a warehouse is a demanding job that comes with many different decisions. A critical decision that you will face as your current loading dock equipment starts to age is whether or not you should invest in more modern accessories. Modernizing your warehouse accessories can feel like a big step. However, investing in the latest accessories has a wide range of benefits.

Why Modernize Your Warehouse?

Traditional solutions often feel like the best choice. They’re reliable, time-honoured, and comfortable, and you may not feel the need to upgrade and modernize your loading dock accessories with DaltonDock. However, there are many reasons you should consider making the investment, from meeting demands to improving efficiency to necessity.

Meet Modern E-commerce Demands

One of the biggest challenges faced by warehouses e-commerce. Regardless of where you are in the supply chain, fast and reliable shipping expectations are the norm, and you need to be able to accommodate. Modern equipment, such as new pit levelers or dock bumpers, allows you to be more flexible in your operations while also reducing the likelihood of breakdowns that slow your productivity.

Take Advantage of New Tech

New advances in technology provides opportunities for more efficient and durable dock equipment. It’s crucial for warehouses to keep up with the most modern products for improved operations and efficiency. With the latest equipment from DaltonDock, you can expect savings in lifecycle costs (repairs and maintenance), improvements in efficiency, and a reduction in downtime.

Fading Support for Older Equipment

One often overlooked reason to modernize your warehouse is that older equipment will eventually no longer be supported. As parts of your equipment wear out, it may become harder to find the necessary replacements. Even long-lasting products will eventually need repairs. Modernizing your warehouse with new equipment means you reset the clock on repair parts and support.

Overview of DaltonDock Loading Dock Accessories

DaltonDock, designed by Wayne Dalton, specializes in commercial loading dock equipment. From lights to levelers, they have everything you need to modernize your warehouse.

Loading Dock Lights

DaltonDock loading dock lights are energy efficient lights that provide illumination inside the trailer when it’s backed up to your dock. They are designed to be strong and durable, with polycarbonate housing and electrical components that can withstand the rigours of loading dock work.

Loading dock lights from DaltonDock have movable arms with a 40” reach, giving you the ability to position the lights as needed, giving you greater flexibility of illumination within a trailer. These lights offer improved visibility and safety for workers, creating a more efficient and productive environment.

Edge of Dock Bumpers

Dock bumpers provide key benefits for small investments. Laminated bumpers use recycled ply-type truck tire sections that are secured with a steel bar. Their main benefit is to protect your loading bay. Trailers and trucks can cause damage when backing into your dock, which can lead to wear and tear on your dock and equipment such as seals or levelers. There are a range of dimensions and vertical styles available to accommodate your specific applications.

DaltonDock heavy-duty wheel chock for truck and trailer safety

Chocks

Wheel chocks are a time-tested product that reduces the risk of trailers and trucks moving when they’re not supposed to. They are key accessories for any loading dock that is serious about the best safety and protection possible. Modern chocks can take advantage of new manufacturing techniques and materials to ensure greater durability and safety than ever before.

Chocks from DaltonDock are available in two varieties: moulded chocks (7" x 9" x 7") that are constructed of solid, durable rubber for stability and long life; and aluminum chocks (7" x 11" x 8") with claw-like bottoms to grip a range of surface conditions. Additionally, heavy-duty zinc-plated chains resist corrosion and discourage chock misplacement.

Dock Levelers

Dock levelers, or pit levelers, are a great tool for modern warehouses where durability and flexibility are required. Their key benefit is that they allow you to accommodate a much greater range of trucks and trailers at your loading dock. DaltonDock levelers offer fast height adjustments that require no shimming in the rear of the pit and easily bridge the gap between the dock and the trailer. This minimizes bumps and gaps, reducing the risk of damage to cargo or injury to employees.

Track Guards

Track guards from DaltonDock are designed to protect your commercial sectional door tracks from damage caused by collisions with forklifts or pallet movers. The guards won’t interfere with door operation, but they will reduce the risk of damage to your equipment, leading to cost savings on repairs. The yellow track guards are 48” tall and can be either wall mounted or floor mounted depending on the configuration of your loading dock.
